Kiev's claims that two Russia's battalion tactical groups had crossed the border with Ukraine show the convulsive attempts to once again sell a ‘pig in a poke’ at a higher price to the financial donors at the international economic forum in Davos, Russian Defense Ministry's spokesman said.

MOSCOW, January 20 (Sputnik) – Kiev’s announcement of “Russia’s invasion” of Ukraine on the eve of the Davos Economic Forum is "hardly accidental" and is an attempt to sell "a pig in a poke" to financial sponsors, Russian Defense Ministry's spokesman Gen.Maj. Igor Konashenkov said Tuesday.

Ukraine’s National Security Service on Monday claimed two battalion tactical groups from the Russian Armed Forces had apparently crossed the Russian-Ukrainian border.

"Such hallucinations of a ‘Russian invasion’ by fundamental ideologists of the military solution of the internal conflict in southeastern Ukraine are hardly accidental, they show the convulsive attempts to once again sell their ‘pig in a poke’ at a higher price to the financial donors at the international economic forum in Davos," Gen.Maj. Konashenkov said.

"We won’t be surprised if these exposures addressed to Russia are heard in the next few days from the high pedestals in Switzerland," he added.

Russian Defense Ministry has called Kiev’s statements on alleged Russian troops deployment to Ukraine "absolute rubbish," ministry’s spokesperson Major-General Igor Konashenkov said Tuesday.

"Yesterday’s Kiev’s claims on alleged Russian Armed Forces’ troops crossing of the Russian-Ukrainian border cannot be criticized enough. This is an absolute rubbish," Konashenkov said.

Kiev and the West have repeatedly accused Moscow of meddling in the Ukrainian crisis since the it began last year, going as far as claiming Russia sent troops and weapons to the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics. However, the claims have not been supported by any evidence.
