A chain of toy stores has escaped punishment for selling a game that allegedly encouraged children to act out a homosexual love scene.

STAVROPOL, January 16 (RIA Novosti) – A chain of toy stores has escaped punishment for selling a game that allegedly encouraged children to act out a homosexual love scene.

Prosecutors issued a minor reprimand to the Katyusha company in the southern Russian city of Stavropol for selling the “Fanty” game aimed at children aged 12 and older.

An investigation began after a local parents’ organization complained that the game instructed players to act out the seduction of members of the same sex as if they were in an erotic film.

An expert psychological review had concluded that Fanty was unsafe for minors because it could “have a negative effect on psychosexual personality development”, the Stavropol regional prosecutors’ office said in a statement Wednesday.

The company, which owns 32 children’s stores in southern and central Russia, had already removed the game from sale by the time prosecutors came to conduct an inspection, the statement said.

One employee was reprimanded in connection with the inquiry, while store managers received a warning.

Prosecutors said that they have notified colleagues about Fanty in the cities of Rostov-on-Don and Smolensk, where the game’s distributor and manufacturer are based.
