Donald Trump: Sealing the Deal in Indiana

Donald Trump: Sealing the Deal in Indiana

After months of breathtaking struggle with his party’s arch-enemies, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump knocked his last major rival out of the game and sealed the deal with voters in finally making him the likely nominee.

Ted Cruz had already been slipping in the polls well before this, with commentators questioning why he was still in the race when it became clear that he couldn’t ever get the delegates that he needed to win. Now that he’s done for, Trump has a clear beeline for the nomination, and the Republican establishment shamefully has to face the same grassroots base that they had so vehemently fought against ever since Trump first announced his candidacy and started winning back in New Hampshire.

The question on everyone’s mind now is whether Trump can reunify the Republican Party or if vindictive splinter factions will run as independents and try to offset the November vote.

To discuss this in more detail we are joined by Alex Bratersky, political commentator at the Gazeta.Ru (studio guest); Chris Shipler, american political commentator; and Richard Magda, Republican leaving in Moscow, Commercial Director at Work Service Russia.
