While claiming he still wish to meet Russia’s President Vladimir Putin Mr. Erdogan appears intent on both sabotaging the Syrian peace process and generating a broad anti-Russian front around which his supposed allies can gather. More and more, however, it looks as though he’s acting out of desperation, with neither the US, the EU, nor even his Gulf partners are throwing their weight behind his policies.
As each geopolitical stunt flounders, the Turkish President seems more inclined to raise the risks with the following one that he attempts.
