The lame duck President engaged in a lot of boasting and hopeful rhetoric, trying to trick the public into thinking that he’s accomplished a lot of good so far. The high-sounding and lofty rhetoric that he used doesn’t match the reality that many folks have experienced over the past 7 years no matter what statistics he throws out, but as they say, you can’t blame a man for trying.
On the international front, Obama blasted Russia and China by saying that neither of them comes close to competing with the US, lavishing that “when it comes to every important international issue, people of the world do not look to Beijing or Moscow to lead — they call us.” He also implored Congress to authorize military force against Islamic State terrorist group (Daesh).
