Argentine President Mauricio Macri is expected to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin on September 3, a government source told Sputnik.

MONTEVIDEO (Sputnik) — On August 14, Argentine Foreign Minister Susana Malcorra said in an interview with Sputnik and five other media outlets that the president of the South American nation expected to hold a bilateral meeting with the Russian leader during the G20 summit in September.

"Mauricio Macri will meet President Putin on September 3," the source said.

The 2016 G20 summit in Chinese eastern city of Hangzhou will be held on September 4–5. However several meetings could be held ahead of, as well as after the official summit's schedule.

The G20 is an international forum for the world's 20 biggest economies. Its participants include the United States, Russia, China, Japan, Germany and Argentina among others.
