Indian PM Urges African Countries to Cooperate on UNSC Reform
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The UNSC is composed of 15 member states, including five permanent ones which are Russia, China, the United States, France and the United Kingdom. Japan currently has a non-permanent seat in the UNSC. Over 60 UN member states have never been elected to the UNSC.

"The enormous continent of Africa has no permanent member to the United Nations Security Council. Agenda 2063 states clearly that by 2023, it will rectify this situation. Please accept my complete support on this point," Abe said, as quoted by the Kenyan Capital FM radio station.

Abe added that problems challenging Africa were not an obstacle to the permanent membership in the UNSC.
