Biden, Trudeau Underscore Joint Commitment to ‘Robust, Effective’ NATO

US Vice President Joe Biden spoke with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau today by telephone to discuss joint commitments to NATO and the maintenance of a vibrant US-Canadian alliance," the White House said in a press release.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — In September, the Canadian prime minister will host the Fifth Replenishment Conference of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Malaria, and Tuberculosis in Montreal, the release noted.

During the telephone conversation the US vice president pledged support for the Global Fund.

“The two leaders [Biden and Trudeau] highlighted their commitment to a robust and effective North Atlantic Treaty Organization and pledged to maintain a strong and vibrant relationship between the United States and Canada," the release stated on Friday.
