Leaders of Italy, Germany, France to Meet on Ventotene Island on August 22
20:01 GMT 17.08.2016 (Updated: 15:36 GMT 28.05.2023) Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande will hold a meeting on Italian island of Ventotene on August 22, the press service of the Italian government said Wednesday.
ROME (Sputnik) — The Italian prime minister will meet his guests at around 4 p.m. local time [14:00 GMT] at the Naples International Airport. The press conference will be held following the meeting at around 8 p.m. local time on the Italian Navy vessel Garibaldi.

Renzi announced the meeting on July 23, citing Brexit as the main issue on the agenda, saying that "the European Union should consider Brexit as a powerful awakening impulse."
The first meeting of the three leaders on Brexit consequences was held in Berlin June 27.
On June 23, the United Kingdom held a referendum to determine whether or not the country should leave the European Union. According to the final results, 51.9 percent of voters, or 17.4 million people, decided to support Brexit, while about 16.1 million opposed it.
