MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the Naharnet portal, new electoral session was scheduled for July 13.
Since 2014, more than 40 electoral sessions have been adjourned because of lack of quorum, media reported.
"All parties agree that the financial and economic risks are increasing as time passes and that we can longer wait… As Lebanese, we must find the solutions ourselves," member of the parliament and Lebanese Forces party's deputy chief George Adwan quoted as saying by the news portal.
Lebanon has been without a head of state since then-President Michel Suleiman’s term expired in May 2014. According to the Constitution, the president of the country should represent the Maronite community. There are two main candidates for the post — former Lebanese Army Commander Michel Aoun and western-oriented politician Samir Geagea.
