"We contacted the US law enforcement agencies in Florida. They do not have such information," Yury Melnik told RIA Novosti on Sunday.

On Sunday, US national Omar Saddiqui Mateen killed 50 people and injured 53 at Pulse gay nightclub in Orlando. The Orlando massacre has become the deadliest mass shooting in the history of the United States, surpassing the death toll from the 2007 incident at Virginia Tech, which claimed 32 lives.

According to US media, Mateen, who was killed by the police at the scene of events, could have had links to radical Islamist groups. This information is currently being checked by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation.
