A statement made by a UN spokeswoman regarding the alleged crossing of the Ukrainian border by the Russian troops is groundless, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Monday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On June 3, UN Human Rights spokeswoman Ravina Shamdasani claimed there had been "credible" reports of servicemen from Russia coming into and out of Ukrainian territory.

"We know that during last years, at the various levels, these statements have been repeatedly made. This was reinforced by some additional accusations of Russian troops crossing [of Ukrainian border]… However, the claims of this kind are nothing but groundless accusations as long as they are not supported by at least some evidence. It has never been done before," Peskov said.

Since the Ukrainian crisis has erupted in 2014, Russia's military forces have been repeatedly accused of crossing the Ukrainian boarder, however, the evidence of such actions has never been provided.
