MOSCOW (Sputnik) – A number of issues will be discussed at the meeting, including integration, macro-economy, trade, financial policy, industry, energy, infrastructure, and customs cooperation, according to the EEU press service.
"Heads of governments who participate in the Eurasian Economic Union shall discuss prospects of deepening integration, including forming common markets of gas, oil and oil products. They will also exchange their views on the expansion of trade and economic relations and association with other countries and regional integration organizations. Following the talks, the adaptation of a number of documents on the practical aspects of the EEU functioning is scheduled," the Kremlin’s press service said.
On Monday, Russian Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov said Russian President Vladimir Putin was expected to hold talks with his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev on the sidelines of the meeting to discuss issues of bilateral relations, international problems and integration processes.
Leaders of other EEU members, namely Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan will also take part in the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting, scheduled to kick off later on Tuesday.
The Russia-led EEU, in existence since January 2015, provides for the free movement of goods, services, capital and labor among its five member states.
