MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The UK Local elections demonstrated the opposition Labour party had forgotten what their supporters really want, UK Prime Minister David Cameron said Friday.
"The Labour party has completely lost touch with the hardworking people they are supposed to represent. They are so obsessed with leftwing causes and unworkable economic policies that they forgot the people want jobs…" Cameron said as Labour had lost 22 council seats in England.
Local elections were held across the United Kingdom on Thursday.
The Labour party won a total of 52 councils and 1,038 seats in England, losing a council and 24 seats, according to the preliminary results from 103 out of 124 councils.
