Free Syrian Army Rejects Idea of Truce in Specific Areas of Syria

"We appreciate and support the stance of the High Negotiations Committee on postponing the Geneva-3 talks, we are urging [it] to adhere to this position firmly until points 12, 13 and 14 on humanitarian issues of the [UN Security Council] resolution 2254 are implemented, especially with regard to stopping shelling of civilians, lifting of sieges and freeing the detainees."

Four delegations were taking part in the talks – the government delegation, HNC, the opposition group that formed following talks in Moscow, Cairo and Astana and the Hmeimim delegation of internal opposition.

The UN Security Council Resolution 2254 was adopted last December. It reaffirms the previous agreements to end the bombardment of civilians in Syria, bring the entire spectrum of political groups in the war-torn country to the negotiating table and promote a lasting political resolution to the crisis.
