Now we have the new vision of the opposition expressed, the one which is 'in the middle,' and it's good. In previous round of talks, the Hmeymim group was disregarded by the High Negotiations Committee (HNC) delegation formed following opposition talks in Riyadh, which claimed to have the exclusive right to represent the Syrian people at the talks.

During the April round, HNC walked out over the continuous fighting in Syria and lack of progress on humanitarian issues. Other delegations stayed in Geneva and continued talks, seizing the opportunity to promote their agenda.
