MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, Turkey's ambassador to Russia, Umit Yardim, said that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu may meet during their visits to China.
"It has not been planned," ministry's spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told RIA Novosti.
Lavrov will start his official visit to China on April 28, while the Turkish minister is already on a visit to the country.
Russian-Turkish relations deteriorated following the downing of the Russian Su-24 aircraft by a Turkish F-16 fighter in Syria on November 24, 2015. Moscow imposed a number of restrictive measures on Turkey in response to what Russian President Vladimir Putin classified a "stab in the back."
