MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Reports of Israeli media that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held talks on alleged air incidents on Syria’s borders are far from being true, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Friday.
On Thursday, Netanyahu arrived in Moscow with official visit to meet Russian leadership. According to Israeli media reports, the two sides discussed two occasions in which Russian fighter jets fired at Israel Air Force aircraft over Syria, as well as Russia's attempt to intercept an Israeli plane.
"I do not want to comment on Israeli media. The reports of the Israeli media outlets are far from reality in this case," Peskov told reporters asked to comment on the alleged talks between Putin and Netanyahu on air accidents in Syria.
During the Israeli prime minister's visit, the sides exchanged views on key issues in the Middle East, including Syrian and Israeli-Palestinian conflicts, as well as the Russian-Israeli cooperation.
