GENEVA (Sputnik) – Earlier in the day, Putin said during an annual Q&A session that in Aleppo, Jabhat al-Nusra and Daesh terrorists, outlawed in Russia, are trying to take over Kurdish positions.
"Putin’s concerns [about situation in Aleppo] are well-grounded. Acceleration of a political solution will create conditions for resolving this problem," Jamil said, commenting on Putin's statement.
He added that the UN Security Council’s decision on Syria allows continuation of military actions against terrorist organizations, such as Jabhat al-Nusra.
"We think that the continuation of the political process and the continuation of the fight against terrorism will not harm each other."
A US-Russia-brokered ceasefire came into force across Syria on February 27. It was supported by Damascus, as well as by dozens of opposition groups on the ground. Daesh and al-Nusra Front (Jabhat al-Nusra) were not part of the deal.
