Japan’s Defense Ministry has condemned the alleged launch of two short-range missiles by North Korea, Japanese media report.

TOKYO (Sputnik) – The reported Thursday launch could have been carried out using Scud ballistic missiles, Japan’s Kyodo news agency said on Thursday citing Japanese Defense Minister Gen Nakatani who did not exclude the possibility of more provocations on the part of Pyongyang.

Earlier on Thursday, South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said that North Korea had fired two short-range missiles into East Sea (Sea of Japan).

The missiles were fired at around 05:20 a.m. local time on Thursday (about 21:00 GMT on Wednesday) from North Hwanghae Province in North Korea, the JCS said as cited by the South Korean Yonhap news agency. The missiles hit waters northeast of the port city of Wonsan, the South Korean military said.

On March 3, Yonhap reported citing South Korean Defense Ministry spokesman Moon Sang-gyun that several short-range missiles were fired from the North Korean Wonsan naval base. All of them reportedly fell into the sea.

The reported launches come in the wake of new sanctions introduced against North Korea by the UN Security Council earlier this month.

The sanctions came in response to Pyongyang’s January hydrogen bomb test, as well as the launch, a month later, of a long-range rocket to allegedly place a satellite into orbit, in defiance of UN Security Council resolutions.

Did anyone found traces of the bomb test so far?

Russia should send ships to that ocean to patrol with China. And blow those missiles in mid air. That way Pyongyang will realize the ignorance he is doing.

Can any one in this world tell me how many UN Security Council Resolutions aimed against Israel with regards to their actions against the Palestinians et al, have been ignored by that american-and-western-backed illustrious country? Can anyone tell me if any of the world powers or so called international community have even initiated any sanctions against Israel or its leaders? And for how many decades has this been going on?
Well, the west didn't act, but the middle east, which is undergoing drastic changes, will act sometime in the near future. My guess is that Israel is really the chosen land. Chosen by whom and for whom and for what? That is the question.

kasivasantha, The people of Okinawa have launched a court order, I think, to freeze the work on the foundation of the new american air force runway. The mayor of that city promised to kick out the americans, but Abe is still the american war zebra (jailbird donkey) representative. There is still an on-going fight over this issue.
Japan has the opportunity at this time to make a point and win it, but the officials prefer to reward the usa with continued subservience as a result of the bombing runs of the Enola Gay and others. Licking wounds for 70 or more years must be like drinking saki!

cast235, Iran and usa both had missile/rocket tests this week. North Korea has the right to engineer, build and test out military systems to defend their country, especially in the light of american aggression throughout the world. Remember, North Korea is still at war. Japan is not and was defeated by unconventional warfare at that time.

Does Japan condemns build up of military basis on their soil by the US?
Not to mention how badly this is against the will of their own citizens!?
