US President Barack Obama warned the Syrian Kurdish People Protection Units (YPG) not to seize additional territory in Syria, and pledged support for Turkey against Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) guerrillas in a phone call to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday, the White House said.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Obama also emphasized the unwavering commitment of the United States to Turkey’s national security as a NATO Ally, and agreed to deepen cooperation in the fight against all forms of terrorism, including the PKK and Daesh, the read out said.

"President Obama stressed that YPG forces should not seek to exploit circumstances in this area to seize additional territory, and urged Turkey to show reciprocal restraint by ceasing artillery strikes in the area," the White House read out, released on Friday, said.

Obama also expressed his concern to Erdogan about recent Syrian army advances in northwest Syria, and urgently called for a halt to actions that heighten tensions with Turkey and with allegedly moderate opposition forces in northern Syria, the read out continued.

"The president condemned and offered condolences for the February 17 terrorist attack in Ankara, which killed and wounded both military personnel and civilians, and the February 18 terrorist attack against a Turkish military convoy in Diyarbakir Province."

I think it is about time that Odumbo gets a white coat and a rubber room to rest his confused and weary mind to regain some form of sanity. Albeit he didn't have much to start with.

That clears up a lot of questions. The US stands with the terrorists and against Syria, Russia, Iran, Hezbollah, Iraq. It makes no difference whether Turkey sends in troops, they have already committed acts of war against Syria. Their escalation will be supported by the criminals. If the YPG, having had Russian support to now, cannot act it may as well surrender to Turkey and the criminals, and Syria with it. Does Russia have any choice but to continue to support the YPG SDF, at whatever cost, against Turkey and if necessary against NATO and Saudi etc.? It doesn't look like it.

I don't understand how anyone thinks the US government is a force for good in Syria and the Middle East. Obama is warning the Kurds against stopping the flow of ISIL weapons.

Excuse me! Something about pots, kettles and black.

"should not seek to exploit circumstances in this area" - utter bullocks from Obama
  • Obama is intentionally increasing tension in the US. I believe that he wants an implosion of US society, a complete disintegration of order. I have to look at his actions and not his words. His intentions are proven through the consistent outcomes he plans and creates. Maybe it was possible for it to be a mistake for the first 2 years, just learning, but we are in year 8. Obama clearly wants it this way. He says all is going great.

jas, once again the us tries to screw the only decent people in a truly horrible neighborhood. I hope the Kurds get their country, and at the most cost to turkey as possible.

Would somebody tell that fool that Syria is the line in the sand for Iran and for Russia. They either fight in Syria this year or their homelands next year.
This is the stuff that World Wars are made from!

Expected response from Obongo´s white masters of the Nudelman breed, the war criminals want war but now it´s showdown and all they can do is watch themselves and their death squads being defeated on the battlefield and that includes Mullah Erdogan

US/NATO believes they can change the "law of physics" there mantra is

exert extreme pressure till it breaks!

Whereis the undisputed Law of Physics; states

'For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction'

Mankind has coexisted and evolved by the law of psychics! it cannot be manipulated nor recast!

I think we just saw the fateful "nod" to Turkey from the POTUS. To say that in Syria the Kurds shouldn't try to gain more ground in Syria is ridiculous. And coupled with the sympathy for the Turkish government and none for all the civilians killed by Turkey is incredibly hypocritical.

Too complicated politic or too crazy politic? The actions of a statesman or the actions of a mad man?

Obama just classified an entire ethnical group as terrorists with over 20 million kurds plus for me unknown number of assyrians.

George Bush please come back,. Everything is forgiven..

US has declared it supports terrorism. All terrorists will be exterminated including their genes. No use fighting turkey, Saudi. The root of evil is USA. If you want to kill the evil weeds, you have to kill the roots. No more talk. We know who the bad guys are now.

Condolences indeed for the victims of the Ankara attack. Also another nail in Turkey's economic coffin. UK holidaymakers are avoiding Turkey like the plague. www.independent.co.uk/travel/news-and-advice/spain-holiday-prices-soar-as-britons-avoid-turkey-follo

Nice. So, the Kurds will know who sides with them.

I do think they you can occupy your property up to the fence or border, or at least, to the surveyed outer perimeter of your property. If borders do not mean anything, then why, in the past, so much time has been spend delineating borders. If Erdo wants a buffer zone, that can be in Turkey and he has a lot of space to do this, from the border right up to the centre of Istanbul. What would be the reaction of the western world if Moscow demanded a buffer zone in Ukraine right up to Kiev.

Western governments in cahoots with Al-Queda US.
