Returning to Russian Market Will Be Difficult for Turkey - Envoy
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Moscow has warned Tehran that while expanding their bilateral cooperation in the food sector, it would not permit the import of Turkish goods through Iran, Russian Special Presidential Envoy on Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov said.

"Tehran is now dreaming of capturing the market [share], Turkey has lost, especially the agricultural sector. But the problem is that Turkish agricultural products are being sent in transit through Iran. We have warned them [Iran] that we will not allow it," Kabulov told RIA Novosti in an interview.

Russia has imposed a number of restrictive measures on its economic cooperation with Turkey in response to the downing of a Russian Su-24 bomber by a Turkish F-16 fighter in Syria on November 24.

In particular, the embargo list of certain kinds of food, in effect since January 1, includes salt, cloves, fruit, vegetables, as well as chicken and turkey products.
