Moscow Dismisses NATO Claims of Russian 'Agressive' Policies as Propaganda

NATO allegations of simulated nuclear attacks on the Alliance and its partners in scenarios of Russian military exercises are part of aggressive propaganda campaign aimed at justifying NATO's existence and usefulness, Russia's envoy to NATO said Thursday.

BRUSSELS (Sputnik) — The allegations were included in NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg's 2015 annual report, released on January 28.

"These are part of NATO's aggressive propaganda campaign to prove its usefulness, to justify the Alliance's course on rebuilding the 'Iron Curtain' in Europe, as well as to find an excuse for military buildup and expansion toward the Russian borders," Alexander Grushko told Russian reporters in Brussels.

Gushko stressed that these claims "sounded even more bizarre" in light of Russia's efforts to make its military activities as transparent as possible.
