GENEVA (Sputnik) — The Riyadh-formed Syrian opposition delegation will not meet with UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura on Tuesday as was previously planned, a spokesman for the group told Sputnik.
"I think no. There is no meeting this evening with de Mistura," the spokesman said.
On Monday, de Mistura met with the Syrian opposition delegation, which was formed following a conference in the Saudi Arabian capital of Riyadh, at the United Nations Office in Geneva.
This meeting marked the formal start of the intra-Syrian talks, in line with the UN Security Council's December resolution on settlement of the Syrian conflict, which stipulated that the entire spectrum of political groups in the crisis-torn country be brought to the negotiating table.
