MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Settling the Syrian crisis is of utmost importance in order to retain the territorial integrity of Turkey and Iraq, the aide to Iran’s supreme leader on international issues said Tuesday.
“Cooperation [between Moscow and Tehran] has, particularly after the Islamic Revolution, been unprecedented in the history of relations between the two countries. One example of Russia and Iran’s common interests is the Syrian issue. Success in this area is of the utmost importance and can provide for the territorial integrity of countries in the region, such as Turkey and Iraq, as well as stability and peace in the region,” Ali Akbar Velayati said in a statement acquired by RIA Novosti.
