MEXICO CITY (Sputnik) – The deals were signed on Thursday by Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of Cuba Rodrigo Malmierca and North Korea’s ambassador in Havana, Pak Chang Yul.
After the signing, Malmierca pointed to "the strong political will of Havana in developing ties [with North Korea]," as quoted by Diario de Cuba on Thursday.
The agreements signed by Cuba and North Korea on Thursday provide for the exchange of goods on a barter basis and allow imports from North Korea of components required by Cuba’s railway companies, as well as the island’s sugar industry.
