BEIJING (Sputnik) – China’s President Xi Jinping met on Wednesday with US Secretary of State John Kerry at the National People's Congress to discuss bilateral cooperation on regional and global issues between the two countries.
"The sides should continue to work together on the already agreed issues and to maintain close coordination on important regional and global issues in order to solve more problems," Xi said at the meeting, as quoted by the CCTV broadcaster.
The Chinese leader stressed that Washington and Beijing had achieved great progress in the fields of economy, culture and military, as well as in the fight against cybercrimes due to close cooperation.
The top US diplomat arrived in China on Tuesday for a two-day visit to hold meetings with a number of China’s senior officials, including the Chinese president and Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
