According to the ministry, the Syrian crisis was high on the agenda of the meeting. The sides confirmed the common position that the Syrian crisis can be settled only through the UN-brokered inter-Syrian dialogue with the assistance from the International Syria Support Group (ISSG).

Libyan settlement issues and the situation at the Israeli-Palestinian conflict were also on the agenda of the consultations, according to the statement.

Following the consultations, Moscow and Cairo agreed to continue policy coordination on Middle East and Africa.
