CAIRO (Sputnik) — Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry is due to visit Germany on Monday to discuss economic relations and pressing regional issues with his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said Sunday.
Shoukry will begin his official four-day visit to Berlin on Monday, meeting the German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier among a number of senior German officials, the Foreign Ministry's Spokesman Abu Zeid said.
Among regional issues to be touched upon are situations in Libya, Syria, Iraq and Yemen and international terrorism, according to Zeid.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi visited Berlin in June 2015, in response to an invitation on the sidelines of the January Davos World Economic Forum. in January 2015, German Chancellor Angela Merkel expressed her country's support for "the process of political and economic reform in Egypt."
