Turkey's Allies 'Disgracefully Acquiesce' While Erdogan Crosses Red Lines
Turkey, where the army and the police violate the rights of the civilian population, can never become a partner of the West, German newspaper Die Welt wrote.

While Ankara sees the Kurds as a bigger threat than Daesh terrorists the conflict between the central government and the Kurdish militias can not be negotiated or resolved, the publication noted.

According to the newspaper, Europe's decision to cooperate with Erdogan and ask him to establish control on the Syrian-Turkish border to limit the inflow of refugees to Europe, was a big mistake.

"Europe is ready to provide Erdogan with the full freedom of action: do what you want, but keep refugees away from us," the article said.

The newspaper believes that such position of the EU is short-sighted, because Erdogan is taking advantage of Europe's submission and continuing war against his own people. The hard approach of the Turkish police, who arrest innocent civilians and contribute to even greater chaos in the country, may soon force people to leave their homes and seek asylum in Europe.

Turkey Kills Over 100 PKK Members in Large-Scale Military Offensive
Europe is currently facing a major refugee crisis with hundreds of thousands of people fleeing Middle Eastern and African countries to escape violence and poverty. The agressive policy of the Turkish authorities may result in a new major wave of refugees heading to Europe, a situation  European countries will be unable to cope with.

Last month, Turkish authorities imposed a curfew in a number of southeastern settlements in Turkey following an escalation in the conflict between Turkish security forces and militants from the Kurdistan Workers Party.

As a result of the government's offensive, over 200 Kurdish militants were killed, while more than 200,000 Kurds fledTurkey amid increased violence.
