MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited his Italian counterpart Sergio Mattarella to visit Russia, the Kremlin press service said Wednesday.
In a New Year address to the Italian leadership, Putin, who visited Italy earlier in the year, said he would be "glad to welcome the Italian president in Russia for a return visit, during which joint work could continue to expand bilateral cooperation in the interests of the peoples of both countries," the press service said in a statement.
