Crimea Freezes Turkish Investment Projects Over Downing of Su-24 in Syria
MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russia has not imposed a trade embargo against Turkey, but because of the increase in danger over several displays of extremism additional measures concerning the control of goods shipped from Turkey are being made, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Thursday.

“No embargoes whatsoever are being imposed. Instead, because of the increased danger over several displays of extremism, naturally, additional control measures are being implemented,” Peskov told journalists.

He added that the additional measures were a natural reaction taking into consideration “Turkey’s unpredictability.”

Putin-Erdogan Meeting in Paris Not Being Planned

A meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the sidelines of the UN climate conference in Paris is not being discussed, and no phone contacts are currently planned between the two leaders, Peskov said.

"No separate meeting is being discussed, and I have no information at the time regarding planned phone calls."

The spokesman noted that Ergodan's upcoming visit to Russia has not officially been canceled, but "many questions" arise from the current situation.

Moscow Still Waiting for Ankara’s Explanation of Downing Russian Su-24 Jet
On Tuesday, a Russian Su-24 jet crashed in Syria. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the plane was downed by an air-to-air missile launched by a Turkish F-16 jet over Syrian territory, falling 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) from the Turkish border.

Ankara claimed that it downed the Russian airplane because it violated Turkish airspace. Contrary to Turkey’s allegations, the Russian General Staff and the Syrian Air Defense Command confirmed that the Su-24 plane never crossed into Turkish airspace and was shot down over Syrian territory.

Russian President Vladimir Putin described the Turkish attack as a "stab in the back" carried out by "accomplices of terrorists."
