LONDON (Sputnik) — Laurence "Laurie" Bristow, former foreign office director of national security, has been appointed Britain's new ambassador to Russia, the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office said in a statement Wednesday.
"Dr. Laurie Bristow CMG has been appointed Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation in succession to Sir Tim Barrow KCMG LVO MBE, who will be transferring to another Diplomatic Service appointment. Dr Bristow will take up his appointment during January 2016," the statement said.
