MANILA (Sputnik) — The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) is currently underway in the Philippine capital of Manila. The issue of the TPP deal, including its possible extension, is high on the agenda of the summit.

"There is the TPP leaders' meeting tomorrow. It will be a little bit celebratory, but it will also be pointing to each countries' domestic processes — what some of the opportunities and some of the challenges are considering the agreement in each of the countries," the official said.

The US-led Trans-Pacific Partnership was signed in early October, and currently promotes a free trade area for 12 Pacific Rim nations, including Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
