Vienna Talks on Syria ‘Almost Perfect’ for Finding Solution - Lavrov
BERLIN (Sputnik) –  On October 30, top diplomats from almost 20 countries, as well as UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura, met in Vienna to discuss efforts to put an end to the ongoing Syrian conflict. The negotiators noted some progress being made during the talks.

“The fact that the Vienna-2 [talks] have become a real breakthrough not in their essence, but in complementing the process is evident. It was easier to imagine us [the Russians] and the Americans sitting at one table and discussing Syria, but Iran and Saudi Arabia [participation in the talks] is a truly great diplomatic success not only for us, but for the others as well,” Vladimir Chizhov told RIA Novosti.

The second round of the international talks on the Syria crisis will be held in Vienna on Saturday.
