MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier in October, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Putin could meet with Sarkozy if the former French president came to Moscow.
The meeting between Putin and Sarkozy is scheduled to take place on Thursday, according to media reports.
Former Justice Minister Rachida Dati, leader of the Union for a Popular Movement party Christian Jacob and several other French politicians will accompany the former president on his visit, according to the channel.
Sarkozy is expected to return to France on Friday, the media outlet reported.
In early October, a member of the National Assembly of France, Sebastien Huyghe, told Sputnik that Sarkozy would visit Russia to meet with Putin at the end of the month.
No official confirmation of the dates of the visit has been issued by either the French or the Russian side as yet.
