NEW YORK (Sputnik) — On Friday, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that the talks due to take place in Caracas on Saturday, September 26, had been moved to the US city, where the Venezuelan leadership was heading with an ambitious goal to reach breakthrough decisions of settling the domestic conflict in Colombia.
According to Russia's ministry, Venezuela has played a large role in settling the conflict in neighboring country.
"The meeting of Lavrov and Maduro will take place on Saturday in the first half of the day," the source stated, reminding that "the negotiations were to take place during the Russian minister's visit to Venezuela, but were rescheduled for New York on the initiative of the Venezuelan side."
