Washington's hard line toward Moscow creates obstacles for cooperation between the countries, Russia's deputy foreign minister said.

NIZHNY TAGIL (Sputnik) – Cooperation with the United States in many areas that include the fight against the Islamic State is hampered by Washington’s political stance, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said Wednesday.

“Cooperation in many, many areas is hampered by Washington’s political stances penetrating all of the US’ line in regard to Russia. As soon as [our] American colleagues finally realize that there are problems in the world that can’t be solved without Russia, then such cooperation [in the fight against ISIL] I believe will improve.”

Russia Preparing for New Sanctions Disregarding Donbass Developments
On Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Moscow and Washington were discussing the creation of an international anti-terrorism coalition, but cautioned that it was too early to discuss Russia getting involved in direct military action against ISIL militants.

The United States is leading an international coalition that has been conducting airstrikes against ISIL positions in Iraq and Syria since 2014.

Russia has repeatedly criticized the US-led coalition for not seeking approval from the UN Security Council and the Syrian government before launching the airstrikes.
