Steinmeier Calls for Perspective in Ties With Russia, Criticizes Sanctions

German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier acknowledged that Berlin should step back from the sanction war against Moscow.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Sanctions against Russia cannot be the final answer, and Berlin needs perspective in its relations with Moscow, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said Tuesday.

"Sanctions against Russia cannot be the final answer. Perspective in Germany-Russia relations is needed," Steinmeier was quoted as saying by the German foreign ministry on Twitter.
