SIMFEROPOL (Sputnik) – Following its reunification with Russia, Crimea and Sevastopol were hit by Western economic restrictions. These sanctions hindered economic relations with Crimea, banning the export of agricultural goods, technologies and services.
"If we speak about plants, then there is the delivery of plants from Italy and France that continue the supplies despite any sanctions," Polishchuk said at a press conference.
He added that the Crimean agriculture sector had purchased agricultural equipment and supplies from European companies.
Crimea rejoined Russia in March 2014 following a referendum in which 96 percent of residents had voted in favor of reunification with Russia. Kiev and its Western allies labeled the move an "annexation." Moscow stated that the Crimean citizens' vote fully complied with international law.
