BRUSSELS (Sputnik) — Greek overall debt stands at about $350 billion, $270 billion of which is owed to the European Central Bank, the International Monetary Fund and some eurozone countries.
"Yes. I don't think anyone wishes to close the door today," the source told reporters, answering a question on whether a decision on resuming talks with Greece would be made.
European Leaders to Discuss Greece at Sunday Summit
European leaders are due to meet again on Sunday to discuss the Greek financial crisis, Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi told reporters on Tuesday.
"Tonight the decision is that we wait until Sunday for the new proposals to be submitted to the institutions from the Greek government," Renzi said at the press briefing following the Euro Summit, as cited by the Guardian.
He warned the Sunday summit could be the last chance for Athens to hammer out a deal with its European money lenders, but added he was not pessimistic about the outcome.
