The Eurogroup talks on the Greece debt settlement failed to bring any results on Wednesday and will resume on Thursday, Finland's Finance Minister, Alexander Stubb, said.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Athens is in talks with its major international creditors, attempting to unlock financial aid to avoid a default on its multibillion-dollar debt before the expiry of the current program on June 30.

Earlier in the day, Athens reportedly rejected counter-proposals by the international creditors, including pension cuts and value-added tax increases.

Greece's overall debt stands at about $350 billion, of which $270 billion is owed to the European Commission, the European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund.
