Oleh Lyashko, the infamous leader of Ukraine’s Radical Party, expressed his bewilderment after Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko asked the country’s constitutional court to recognize the ousting of former President Viktor Yanukovych as illegitimate, TV Channel Zvezda reported.

Lyashko, known for his loud-mouth and eccentric antics, said on his Facebook account that Ukraine will soon see the triumphant return of Yanukovych:

"President Poroshenko asks the constitutional court to declare the ousting of Yanukovych as unconstitutional… With this kind of policy, pursued by Poroshenko, Yanukovych will soon be able to return to Ukraine, like a knight in shining armor."

Earlier this week, Poroshenko said that the law on "the removal of the presidential title from Viktor Yanukovych" was unconstitutional and illegitimate. The episode is confusing to many, since Poroshenko himself actively supported the Maidan protests in Kiev that resulted in the illegitimate overthrow of Yanukovych's government.

Last year, Yanukovych became the scapegoat of Ukrainian politics after his government was accused of causing all the misfortunes in the country. Now, more than a year after the former president was ousted, his legacy is still around. Mikheil Saakashvili, the new governor of Ukraine's Odessa Region, said that in the best case scenario, Ukraine will need 20 more years to reach the economic level of Yanukovych's government in 2013.

Who knows, but with the chaotic nature of Ukrainian politics, the world might indeed see the triumphant return of former president Yanukovych.
