During the recent news conference Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that "journalists from Bloomberg are mistaken" about Putin's planned remarks for his much-anticipated speech at the forthcoming St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The media source suggested that the Russian President would evade the issues of the country's economic difficulties, "meaningful" measures to recover from the "recession," curtailing corruption and strengthening property rights, quoting four unnamed individuals supposed to be familiar with the matter by the media source.
Bloomberg claimed that Vladimir Putin would seek to assure Russians that the worst phase of the economic downturn sparked "by sanctions" and a sharp fall in oil prices is over and would "probably" use his annual address to send a "politically neutral" signal to the West to stave off further tensions with Washington and its allies.
The media outlet also suggested that the Russian leadership is playing for time, waiting for the Central Bank of Russia to refill its financial reserves.
However, Putin's spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has clearly signaled that Bloomberg's assumptions are far from reality.
