"The prospects of developing Russian-French interparliamentary ties were discussed during the meeting," the statement on the Russian Duma's website said.
Le Pen said the party would continue to defend France's freedom and confirmed the party's participation in the upcoming presidential election in 2017.
The National Front party is one of the largest parties in France, and is known to have taken a stance on recent issues different from those prevailing in the West.
Le Pen has repeatedly stated that the policy of sanctions against Russia over the Ukrainian crisis was "not a good idea" and urged countries to pursue their own agenda. At the same time, she has said the European Union is at least partially responsible for the crisis in Ukraine, with the bloc negotiating a trade deal with the country, forcing it to choose between Europe and Russia.
