VOLGOGRAD (Sputnik) – Moscow emphasizes the importance of dialogue with Berlin in light of the difficult geopolitical situation, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Thursday.
"The [current global] situation is far from being stable and it is developing under a rather negative scenario," Lavrov said at a joint press conference with his German counterpart, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, in the Russian city of Volgograd.
"In this respect, we emphasize the development of the dialogue between Moscow and Berlin, and lay great hopes on the talks scheduled during the visit of German Chancellor Angela Merkel to Moscow on May 10," Lavrov said.
