The Obama administration conducts reckless foreign police engaging in "willful anti-Russian provocations" that could lead to a nuclear war with Moscow, political analyst Stephen Lendman said.

US foreign policy is guided by madness, Lendman added.

The United States has deployed thousands of US combat troops and military hardware, including heavy weapons, to the border with Russia under the guise of what the analyst called nonexistent "Russian aggression." In fact, Washington wants to provoke Moscow using every opportunity to undermine Russia's peace efforts to resolve the protracted Ukrainian crisis.

"Minsk II is dead. Washington killed it," Lendman said, referring to a set of measures aimed at deescalating violence in Ukraine. Known as the Minsk agreements, they were signed by the Normandy Four group comprising the leaders of Russia, Ukraine, France and Germany in February.

Ceasefire following the Minsk agreements is "pure illusion" since Kiev continues to shell eastern Ukraine on a daily basis, the analyst emphasized. Latest developments could lead to a "full-scale war at Obama's discretion — perhaps heading toward setting the entire conflict ablaze," Lendman said.

"Washington wants conflict escalated, not ended. Expect its junta stooges to oblige," the analyst opined.
