"Next week I will pay a visit to Berlin and meet with the president, the [German] Chancellor Angela Merkel," Poroshenko said in an interview with "First National" TV channel.
He added that another telephone conversation in the Normandy format is expected soon.
The leaders of the so-called Normandy Quartet, namely Ukraine, Germany, France and Russia in February hammered out a peace deal between Kiev forces and independence supporters after marathon talks in Minsk, Belarus.
The peace plan stipulated a ceasefire between the warring sides in Ukraine's eastern Donbas region, heavy weaponry withdrawal from the line of contact and all-for-all prisoners swap.
On Saturday, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said there are signs of conflict deescalation in eastern Ukraine that need to be confirmed.
