“Of course, when they will meet tête-à-tête or in a small circle, this [Ukrainian reconciliation] issue will certainly be raised,” he said.

The Belarusian capital has hosted talks on the Ukrainian crisis settlement both in the Contact Group and Normandy formats.

The latest meeting of leaders of the Normandy Quartet, comprising Russia, Ukraine, Germany and France, took place in Minsk on February 12 and resulted in a peace deal that was signed by Contact Group members.

The agreement envisages a ceasefire in eastern Ukraine and withdrawal of heavy weaponry from the line of contact, as well as an all-for-all prisoner exchange and constitutional reforms in Ukraine, among other steps.

The agreed upon ceasefire in the region came into force on February 15.
