MOSCOW, January 30 (Sputnik) – No preparations have been made so far for a visit by US State Secretary John Kerry to Russia despite reports that it could happen next week, a source in the US Embassy in Russia said Friday.
"We are not preparing for the visit of John Kerry next week," the source told RIA Novosti.
On Thursday, newspaper Kommersant reported that Kerry could visit Moscow on February 4-5 to meet his counterpart Sergei Lavrov, citing diplomatic sources.
The ministers were expected to discuss the Arab-Israeli conflict, the Iranian nuclear program, the situation in Syria and international fight against the Islamic State.
Kerry's previous visit to Moscow took place in May 2013.
